Miwa Ito / Glass Artist
Born in Osaka, Miwa Ito has lived with something unbendable since childhood. When she encountered glassblowing, she was able to express this through her work, using glass as her medium of language. She often incorporates her unique sensibilities, developed from a young age, into her creations. Since discovering glass as a material, she has been deeply captivated by it, and even after 10 years, it still excites her. In her work, love, growth, and hope are central themes.

She currently works at GGG Glassblowing Studio in Osaka, while also creating her own pieces.

大阪に生まれる。Itoは子供時代より曲げられない何かを抱えて生きてきたが、吹きガラスに出会い、それを吹きガラスという彼女の言語で、作品にしている。幼少期からもつ独自のこだわりを落とし込むことが多い。彼女がガラスという素材に出会ってからは、その素材に心底魅せられて、10年経った今でもドキドキしている。作品では愛や成長、希望を現在の大きなテーマとしている。

現在は大阪のGGG Glassblowing Studioにて勤務しながら、自身の作品も制作している。
